Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our team and maintain our construction fleet of vehicles, equipment, and small tools. The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, light electrical repairs, and minor mechanical work. This position ensures that all vehicles and tools are in proper working condition to support smooth construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Perform oil changes, lube services, and filter replacements on fleet vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans, and trailers).
    • Inspect and maintain fluid levels, belts, hoses, and tires.
    • Conduct light repairs, including brake and electrical system diagnostics.

 

  • Small Tool and Equipment Repairs:
    • Maintain and repair small tools such as compactors, saws, drills, and generators.
    • Perform regular inspections and ensure tools are properly cleaned, lubricated, and stored.

 

  • Electrical Repairs:
    • Perform light electrical repairs, such as replacing lights, fuses, and wiring for vehicles and trailers.
    • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues in construction equipment.

 

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Accurately document services performed, parts used, and repairs completed.
    • Report any significant repair needs or safety concerns to the Fleet Manager.

 

  • Shop Maintenance:
    • Keep the maintenance area clean, organized, and stocked with essential tools and supplies.
    • Assist in inventory management for parts and supplies.

 

  • Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working.
    • Conduct pre- and post-maintenance inspections to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications:

  •  Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance, fleet service, or related roles.
    • Experience working with small tools and construction equipment preferred.

 

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in oil changes, lubrication, and light electrical work.
    • Basic mechanical knowledge of diesel and gas engines.
    • Familiarity with small tools and construction equipment repairs.

 

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
    • Comfortable working on fleet vehicles, trailers, and small tools.

 

  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
